Dedicated to synchronized skating and friendship!
These ladies started together October 2007 taking to the ice once a week under the direction of Coach Cathie Gillespie. Showcasing their program at Cupid Capers in Newmarket, where they placed 5th in the Gold Final and Bert Winfield Competition in St. Mary"s Ontario on March 15th, where the team skated to a Silver Medal, and what a memorable first season together.
Royal Blades Illusions also skated at the NHL Old-timers Game in February at the Barrie Molson Center, an event that the Royal Blades are always happy and proud to support. Special thanks to the Barrie and Stayner Skating Clubs for the opportunity to skate at their carnivals this season.

Royal Blades - Juvenile Skaters - Ice Flames

The 2007-2008 was used to promote synchronized skating and improve skills for our skaters from Ice Flames. Skaters from Ice Intrigue also used their time this season promoting the sport of synchroniized skating and improving their skating skills. Synchronized clinics were held with the Thornton and Oro skating clubs. Skaters also performed at the NHL Old timers fundraiser in February at the Barrie Molson Center. Special thanks to the Stayner and Thornton Skating Clubs for the opportunity to skate at their Carnivals this season. We would like to share the fun with others, if you are interested in seeing what this sport is all about, please attend our open house and auditions for the upcoming season.
The Royal Blades are hoping to ice teams in several categories next season.
Each year the Royal Blades participate in the opening of the outdoor rink at Barrie City Hall in December. Even with the cold weather these skaters entertained many residents and promoted our sport. Looking forward to building teams again next season!
